What
is Human? Who are we? Where do we come from? What is love?
The
most fundamental of our philosophical questions are tackled by a
few daring movies.
These
movies are often presented as action, etc. but with a sub-text that
leaves you thinking.

Movies asking Big Questions
|
|
What is Human? If we artificially create beings that look human, act
human, and even start developing their own emotional responses, then what
is the difference? If we think we are different, what is it that makes us
human?
If you are not left asking questions after seeing this movie then you
are as insubstantial as a pile of papers in the breeze.
When all that is left of your original human body is your consciousness,
what happens to your soul? Does it exist in the first place? What exactly
makes us human?
Can we live forever? Maybe, but at what price? This and many other
questions are tackled in this philosophical playground.

It is
essential to our existence as humans that we question our existence.
Many of the great philosophers have asked these questions in the
past.
A lot
of today's philosophers hide behind fiction and let the questions
reside in their stories. Many of the great stories work on several
levels. The superficial level may still entertain without great
thought. But for those who have a mind, closer examination reveals
a myriad of questions aimed at challenging how we think about life.
