"Someone's at the door."

What is it about? Is it horror? What exactly is it? Well, here at SFTV.info, we don't worry if we can't pigeonhole something. What we can say is this was an innovative series dealing with some strange events in a small US town called Trinity. It is a pretty little town in South Carolina and then the sheriff kills a young girl. She returns as a ghost. She and Sheriff Lucas Buck and in fact, quite a lot of the cast are related in certain ways that may or may not become clear. Other strange happenings occur, with spirits, visions, harsh reality, mixed with some other weird goings-on and you never really know quite what to expect next.

Main Characters:

Sheriff Lucas Buck (Gary Cole)
Gail Emory (Paige Turco)
Dr. Matt Crower (Jake Weber)
Selena Coombs (Brenda Bakke)
Merlyn Temple (Sarah Paulson)
Caleb Temple (Lucas Black)
Deputy Ben Healy (Nick Searcy)

If you were unfortunate enough to see this series when originally shown in 1995 in the USA by CBS, then you may have thought it looked interesting, but was somewhat confusing. If you have seen it somewhere else with ALL the episodes in the CORRECT order, then it makes considerably more sense and shines as a fascinating series. It seems there are too many people in charge of TV scheduling who get really irritated at anything that is a little different and engages the imagination. With the arbitrary and negligent scheduling by CBS of the original showing, it is not surprising the audience figures couldn't be maintained and the series got canned. It shouldn't have happened, but that's TV companies for you.
