Mutant X

Mutant X cast

Yippee! Genetic mutants. Nothing to do with X-Men mutants of course. Totally different set of X mutants really. There was this place called Genomex with leading genetic scientists Adam Kane (John Shea) and Mason Eckhart (Tom McCamus). Adam realises that his research has led to the creation of"new mutants" and he leaves. What they have done is create genetically mutated humans who have supernatural powers. Adam sets up Sanctuary to save those new mutants that are now out there roaming amongst us. But Eckhart is now in charge of Genomex and he also wants them.

Adam's team is made up of:

Shalimar Fox (Victoria Pratt fresh from Cleopatra 2525). Shalimar is feral and gorgeously fit. With blazing eyes, her animal DNA assists her to leap and fight with feline grace and ferocity.

Brennan Mulwray (Victor Webster) has an electric touch - literally. He can control electric to start cars or to throw lightning bolts. Before joining with Adam, Brennan was passing time using his powers in a not very legal way.

Jesse Kilmartin (Forbes March) is a nice guy, learning life the hard way. His ability is to change his molecular density so that he can become as hard as rock or so loose he can walk through solid walls. He evidently has good, directional control of this ability as he never falls through the floor when passing through a wall.

Last to be conscripted is Emma deLauro (Lauren Lee Smith). Her powers are mental as she can change people's perceptions of what they are experiencing or feeling.

All of them learn their martial arts, so there is plenty of fighting in a very Matrix-like jumping around style. And over time, their abilities have a tendency to get stronger. For example the relatively passive Emma one day starts to be able to project mental energy bolts. But this is in the nature of genetic mutation.

Eckhart is a bad guy, but even worse is the psychotic "first mutant" Gabriel Ashlocke (Michael Easton - from Total Recall 2070). Gabriel has ALL the powers and when he escapes from perpetual stasis, some really bad things are about to happen! Including time travel...
