Former
CIA agent Frank Parker is pulled out of the loony bin and gets to
be the lucky one who tries out the highly experimental time machine.
Nobody has yet survived, but these are desperate times - he needs
to go back 7 days to stop the White House, (and president), getting
blown up. It works, he saves the day and so begins a series of weekly
backward trips to save us from all manner of hostile acts.
But although
he goes back 7 days, they need to gather intel before sending
him back, so he might not travel until 5 days after the event
- leaving him with just two days to stop the terrorists.
Time
point: Their view is that once he has travelled back in time,
the future he came from no longer exists and so he can't know
for certain how things will pan out, (as his first attempt
at gambling on the outcome of a game proves). Equally, anything
he has done or has happened in the lost week now hasn't happened.
Does he get confused? Wouldn't you? And what about when he
meets himself ...
