After the success of Star Trek: The Next Generation, they came
up with a third series. To make it something different, it was set
on a space station. It started off slowly, but gradually became
a very interesting set of stories and characters. Deep Space 9 is
the space station established at a wormhole that leads to the Delta
Quadrant. It is above the planet Bajor. With the station recently
occupied by Cardassians, who figure prominently over the series,
political and religious/mystical involvement from Bajor and the
increasing threat from the Dominion from the Delta Quadrant eventually
leading to outright war, there are plenty of interesting stories
that happen around and from the Deep Space 9 Space Station!
