A long time ago, Star Trek was done. Except it had one of the biggest
cult followings ever. So they decided to recreate the experience.
The Next Generation was born and initially got a lot of stick from
people who didn't want to see it succeed and success was by no means
guaranteed. But succeed it did. Who could replace the inimitable
Captain Kirk? Up stepped the "bald, English, Shakespearean
actor" and Captain Picard was brought to life!
The Next Generation recreated Star Trek in a modern image. Better
SFX, better computers and slightly more serious. We boldly went
where no-one had gone before.
